For the Patties
  • 1 pound Ground Beef Can substitute with ground chicken
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Pineapple Juice
For the Toppings
  • 1 medium Red Onion Grilled
  • 4 slices Pineapple Fresh or canned
  • 4 slices Turkey Bacon
  • 4 slices Havarti Cheese
  • 4 leaves Green Leaf Lettuce
For the Buns and Sauces
  • 4 buns Hamburger Buns (brioche or Hawaiian)
  • 4 tablespoons Mayo
  • 1/2 cup Teriyaki Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Barbecue Sauce
Optional Toppings
  • 1 medium Sliced Tomato
  • 1 medium Bell Pepper
  • 1/4 cup Pickles

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Patty Mixture by combining beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, ginger, soy sauce, and pineapple juice in a bowl.
  2. Form the Patties into 6 or 8 equal portions, about ¾ inch thick with a slight indentation in the center.
  3. Preheat the Grill to medium-high heat around 400°F and prepare onion and pineapple for grilling.
  4. Grill the Onion and Pineapple for about 3 minutes until grill marks appear.
  5. Cook the Burger Patties for 3 minutes on one side, then flip and grill for an additional 2 minutes.
  6. Add a slice of Havarti cheese on each patty in the last minute of grilling.
  7. Assemble the Aloha Burgers with mayo, lettuce, patties, grilled toppings, sauces, and optional toppings.
  8. Serve and enjoy with a side of fruity coleslaw or sweet potato fries.
