Step-by-Step Instructions
- Cook pasta by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add bucatini and cook according to package instructions, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- Sear steak in a large skillet with olive oil over medium-high heat, seasoned with salt and pepper, for 2-3 minutes on each side. Transfer to a plate to rest.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium, add unsalted butter, and then the minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add shrimp and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- Make the sauce by adding Calabrian chili paste or oil to the skillet. Stir in lemon juice and a splash of reserved pasta water. Let simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Combine ingredients by adding the drained bucatini, steak, and shrimp back into the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently and add more reserved pasta water if needed for a glossy finish.
- Finish and serve by removing from heat and garnishing with chopped parsley or basil. Serve immediately.
