Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Cook pasta by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add bucatini and cook according to package instructions, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Sear steak in a large skillet with olive oil over medium-high heat, seasoned with salt and pepper, for 2-3 minutes on each side. Transfer to a plate to rest.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium, add unsalted butter, and then the minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add shrimp and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  4. Make the sauce by adding Calabrian chili paste or oil to the skillet. Stir in lemon juice and a splash of reserved pasta water. Let simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Combine ingredients by adding the drained bucatini, steak, and shrimp back into the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently and add more reserved pasta water if needed for a glossy finish.
  6. Finish and serve by removing from heat and garnishing with chopped parsley or basil. Serve immediately.
