Method
 

Steps
  1. In a small saucepan, combine frozen blueberries and lemon juice over medium heat. Cook for about 10 minutes until syrupy.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and prepare an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add in the egg, egg yolk, buttermilk, coffee, oil, and vanilla. Stir until creamy.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for approximately 50 minutes.
  6. Once baked, cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  7. Once cooled completely, spread blueberry frosting over the cake.
  8. For presentation, sprinkle with fresh blueberries, cut into squares, and serve.
