- In a medium to large bowl, combine 2 cups of whole cream, 1 cup of milk, and ¾ cup of fine sugar. Use a hand mixer on medium speed to whisk the ingredients together for about 20 seconds, until light and slightly frothy.
- Pour the creamy mixture into your pre-chilled gelato or ice cream maker. Set the machine to churn for about 15 minutes, monitoring it to ensure it doesn’t over churn.
- Warm 1 cup of Nutella slightly for easier blending and add it along with ½ cup of mini dark chocolate chips just a few minutes before the churning is complete.
- Carefully transfer the gelato to a freezer-safe container and smooth the top with a spatula. Seal tightly.
- Place the container in the freezer for at least 2 hours to firm up before serving.
