- Gently season chicken thighs and drumsticks with kosher salt and black pepper. Set aside.
- Mix BBQ sauce, honey, Dijon mustard, vinegar, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder in a bowl. Add chicken to mixture, coat well, and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
- Remove chicken from fridge, drain excess marinade, and pat dry. Brush with canola oil and season again with salt and pepper.
- Preheat grill to medium heat (350°F to 375°F) for 10-15 minutes.
- Grill chicken for 3-4 minutes on each side until grill marks appear.
- Move chicken to cooler side of the grill, cover, and cook for 15-20 minutes until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Brush with reserved BBQ sauce during the last 3-5 minutes of cooking, then serve.
