  • nonstick skillet
  • Spatula

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together four eggs and one cup of half and half until well blended. Allow this mixture to sit aside as you continue with preparations.
  2. Stir in one teaspoon of vanilla extract, one teaspoon of ground cinnamon, a quarter cup of brown sugar, and a pinch of salt into the custard. Mix until fully incorporated and the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Take six King’s Hawaiian Rolls and poke several holes in the bottom of each roll. Set the prepared rolls aside while you ready your soaking station.
  4. Dip each roll into the custard mixture for about 30 seconds. Carefully turn the rolls to ensure all sides are well coated, then let any excess custard drip off.
  5. On medium-low heat, melt two tablespoons of butter in a nonstick skillet. Keep the heat controlled to allow the exterior to caramelize without burning.
  6. Place the soaked rolls in the skillet and cook each side for 30 to 60 seconds or until they achieve a golden color.
  7. Transfer the warm Hawaiian Roll French Toast to plates, dust with powdered sugar, and top with fresh berries and maple syrup. Serve immediately.
