Method
 

Cake Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients until well combined.
  3. Use an electric mixer to cream together the butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  6. Fold in diced pears and walnuts gently.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. While the cake cools, melt butter for the glaze and mix with brown sugar and milk.
  10. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes before inverting it and glaze it while slightly warm.
