Ingredients

For the Casserole
  • 2 cups Pancake Mix Use your favorite brand or a homemade mix.
  • 1 pound Sausage Links Classic breakfast sausage or spicy varieties.
  • 4 large Eggs Fresh organic eggs yield the best results.
  • 1 cup Milk Whole milk for richness or almond milk for lighter version.
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup Drizzle more on top when serving.
  • 2 cups Cheese Shredded cheddar or mozzarella, mix types for flavor.
  • 1 can Baking Spray

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • mixing bowl
  • 9x13-inch baking dish

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. Start by heating a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage links and cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and fully cooked.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine your pancake mix, eggs, and milk. Whisk until it reaches a smooth, thick consistency that is still pourable.
  3. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with baking spray. Pour half of your pancake batter into the dish, spreading it evenly.
  4. Layer half of the sliced sausage followed by half of your shredded cheese. Repeat this process with the remaining pancake batter, sausage, and cheese.
  5. Once all layers are added, pour any remaining pancake batter over the top, ensuring an even cover.
  6. Transfer your baking dish into the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown on top.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes, then drizzle with maple syrup and serve warm.
