Ingredients
  

For the Marinade
  • 1/4 cup Hoisin Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce opt for low-sodium
  • 2 tablespoons Honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Oyster Sauce or mushroom sauce for vegetarian
  • 2 tablespoons Rice Vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese Five-Spice Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil optional
For the Chicken
  • 1 pound Chicken Thighs boneless and skinless
For the Glaze
  • 1/4 cup Reserved Marinade from marinating

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine all marinade ingredients and whisk until smooth.
  3. Place chicken thighs in a resealable bag, pour in half of the marinade, seal, and massage the chicken. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  4. Reserve and refrigerate the remaining marinade separately.
  5. Remove marinated chicken from the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  6. Arrange marinated chicken thighs on a lined baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. While chicken is baking, bring reserved marinade to a boil and simmer for about 10 minutes until thickened.
  8. Brush the thickened marinade over the chicken and broil for 2-3 minutes until caramelized.
  9. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving warm.
