- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and espresso powder for about one minute.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth, then gradually incorporate the melted chocolate.
- Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Slowly stir in the hot coffee.
- Fold in most of the chocolate chips, reserving a handful for topping later.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle reserved chocolate chips on top. Bake for 60-70 minutes.
- Once baked, let cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
