  • 2 tbsp Tomato Paste essential for depth of flavor
  • 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning substitute with oregano if needed
  • 1 tsp Paprika can replace with chili powder for heat
For the Cheesy Topping
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese mix with provolone for flavor
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
For the Garlic Bread Base
  • 4 slices Garlic Bread store-bought or homemade
  • 2 tbsp Butter can substitute with olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley for garnish and flavor

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Mix softened butter, minced garlic, and parsley for the garlic spread.
  3. Spread garlic mixture on cut sides of garlic bread. Toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Sauté chopped onions in a skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Add minced garlic, then ground beef or chicken, cooking until browned (6-8 minutes).
  6. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the toasted garlic bread halves.
  8. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese over the fillings. Bake for an additional 8-10 minutes until cheese is melted.
  9. Cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve garnished with parsley.
