  • 1 block Paneer Use firmer paneer for better structure.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder Adjust to taste.
For the Gravy
  • 2 tablespoons Oil Can substitute with ghee.
  • 1 large Onion Finely chopped.
  • 2 medium Tomatoes Fresh, pureed.
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger-Garlic Paste Or use freshly minced.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red Chili Powder Adjust according to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to your liking.
  • 1 cup Water Adjust for gravy consistency.
For Garnish
  • 1 bunch Fresh Cilantro Chopped.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by gently coating the whole block of paneer with salt and red chili powder, letting it marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  2. In a large pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown (5-7 minutes).
  3. Stir in ginger-garlic paste into the sautéed onions and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add pureed tomatoes, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and red chili powder. Cook until oil separates from the masala (8-10 minutes).
  5. Add 1 cup of water and gently place the marinated paneer block into the gravy. Cover and simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Check seasoning, adding more salt if necessary. Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro and serve hot with naan, rice, or paratha.
