Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by bringing a pot of water to a rolling boil. Add fresh broccoli florets and blanch them for 30 seconds until bright green.
  2. Quickly transfer the florets to a bowl filled with ice water to stop the cooking process.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled broccoli, crunchy sunflower seeds, sweet raisins, and crispy crumbled bacon.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sugar, white vinegar, and black pepper to create a smooth dressing.
  5. Pour the dressing over the salad mixture and thoroughly combine all ingredients.
  6. Allow the salad to chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
