- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for 2 minutes until garlic is golden.
- Add lemon zest and juice, rinsed capers, and fresh herbs to the skillet. Pour in reserved pasta water and add Parmesan cheese. Stir on low heat for 3-4 minutes.
- Add drained pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat with sauce. Stir in butter until melted.
- Plate pasta with extra herbs and Parmesan, drizzle with olive oil, and serve immediately.
